Matthew 7:21-23

Do you remember the exams you wrote in school and were not so sure if you passed or not? I do. Every exam comes with some pressure and tension, but sometimes the tension after writing the exam is greater than the one before writing it. Why? Because you are not so sure how you did in the exam. Sometimes you can’t wait to see the release of the results. People rush to the display board to see how they did, and those who could not be there would send their friends to check for them. Yeah, I passed through one of those tough schools where results were released with asterisks and description “Advised to Withdraw.” This is the worst news that anyone could have, because the advise is actually not an advise, it is an instruction.
No one wants to be kept in suspense. Consider those who go for medical tests for some life-changing illnesses; the time between the tests and the release of the results could be so tense that the patient is already losing weight and living in fear of what the diagnosis could be. And on a lighter note, people whose dreams are to travel abroad, when they apply for visas, are already dreading seeing the stamp ‘Denied’ on their passports when the embassy returns them.
Now, these earthly events and suspense periods might be uncomfortably dreadful, but these are a child’s play when compared to the result one might receive at the Judgement Seat if there is no assurance of salvation, because the Bible says in Matthew chapter 7 verses 21 – 23:
Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
To be clear, the result everyone awaits at the Throne of Heaven is the mother of all results. This is the final of all finals. After this result, all tests and examinations are ended. Just as the exams of this world will give you a pass or fail result, each person will receive one of two results: ‘Welcome, my faithful servant,’ or ‘Depart from me.’ The second result will not be your portion, in Jesus’ name.
In this world, there are many arguments about God, and in some occasions, about His existence. We do not need to even start to debate these. One thing is sure: death will come one day if the rapture has not taken place. You may debate the rapture but you can’t debate death. There are many stories on the internet about those who died for some minutes or days or those who were unconscious for days and went to heaven and came back alive. The only story that I am sure of is that of Jesus Christ who died and was raised from the dead on the third day. He is the only One who can tell us about heaven, because He came from there in the first instance. And according to His teachings in Matthew 25:31-46, there will be judgement before anyone is let into heaven. This will be the real Moment of Truth. Nothing will be hidden. The real us will be revealed and our service here on earth will be tested by fire, according to 1 Corinthians 3:13. Will yours survive?
As God’s children, no one should be caught unawares on the last day. We should not be in the class of those who took exams and are not sure of the results. We should all be sure that if Jesus comes back at any moment, we are ready. We should already know the result of our tests. The Moment of Truth for us should be walk-over and a revelation of what we already know. If you are not at this level, then I urge you to please examine yourself and take corrective measures.
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, this is the moment to do it. Do not be like those who do not prepare for their exams – they already know what the result would be. Today is the day that is acceptable for you to surrender. Tomorrow may be too late, and this is not a joke. Everyone needs to prepare in order to pass an exam. Everyone needs to prepare in order to see God. Everyone needs to prepare in order to enter into His Kingdom. Are you prepared?

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
