Exodus 15:1-3

Whenever God delivers His children from evil, it is customary to see thanksgiving; there will be songs (sometimes new songs), music, dancing, and other acts to show that the people are happy. In Exodus chapter 14, one of the greatest acts of deliverance took place for the children of Israel. It was the epic crossing of the red sea. The Bible says that the children of Israel crossed the sea on dry ground, the waters having been parted and made to look like heaps on the right and on the left. Their enemies, seeing something that could not ordinarily happen and not learning a lesson that the Almighty God was fighting on behalf of His children, followed them until they were destroyed in the sea.
When it was obvious that the deliverance was completed, and having seen something that they never dreamt could happen, Moses and the children of Israel sang a new song. In verse 1 of Exodus chapter 15, we read:
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!
Different occurrences call for different songs, and this one was crafted straight from the events of the day. Has God delivered you from some fearful situations and what songs did you sing? You may not have composed a new song, but it is difficult not to sing in your heart to thank God. It could be as simple as “What the Lord has done for me, I cannot tell it all…” but the heart of the recipient must rejoice for the mercies of the Lord.
Before this great deliverance took place, there were fears, shouting and accusation against Moses for bringing a whole nation of people to die in the wilderness. Amazingly, Moses was forced to prophesy of what was going to happen. In chapter 14, verses 13-14, the Bible says:
And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
When scary situations befall people, it is difficult not to be afraid, but we need to stand still and see the salvation of our God. He who delivered Israel at the red sea never left His position. He does what He alone can do again and again, and we need to rest assured that He will do it again.
In Exodus 15:3, Moses defined “The Lord” as a man of war, or as a warrior, then he went ahead to equate that description to God by saying, “The Lord is His name.” Interpreted, this means The Lord will fight for you, He never loses a battle, so He will win for you, He will set you free, He will make you whole, He will not only defeat, but He will destroy the enemy. The Lord is His name.
In verse 11 of chapter 15, Israel’s song reads:
"Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?
There is absolutely no one like our God. He is able to do what He says He will do, and no one can stop or arrest Him. The enemy may come to you like a flood, but the Holy Spirit will always raise a standard against him. So, not minding what situation you are facing, direct, indirect, battles, conspiracies, physical or spiritual, always remember one thing: The Lord is His name.

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
