The Conspiracy of The Jews

John 2:13-22

There's a saying which says it’s because of arguments that people stay too long in meetings. So, when a stranger tells me something that is too good to be true, I just laugh and pretend that I am listening and following the story. Recently, a taxi driver picked me from the airport and then, as many of them do, started a conversation. I sincerely prefer to be driven straight to my destination without engaging in retail talks, but sometimes you can’t brush it off without sounding offensive.

This guy asked if I was aware that the government has been busy spraying something into the sky to prevent the sun from shining. He said it’s because this year’s winter has been too warm, so the action was embarked upon to prompt cold weather and help the snow to fall. Then he says he has videos to show me what was happening. He pulled up his phone and showed me a whitish line in the sky that looked exactly as the sometimes-trailing smoke that an aircraft leaves when flying. Then he pulled another video filled with clouds and said, this was what happened after the government sprayed that white substance in the sky. I was going to tell him that I had seen this white trailing line all my life, including when growing up in the village and unable to spell airplane, but I just said really? Wow. Then the guy said people like me have been working too much and not paying attention to what the government was doing. To me, that was probably the only true statement he made.

Conspiracy theories are as old as man. In Eden, the devil sold one theory to Eve and made her believe that God did not like her, and that was the reason He had told her and Adam to not eat of the tree in the middle of the garden. She bought the theory and caused a destruction of the relationship between man and God. Conspiracy theories are ultra-dangerous. When people buy into them, someone or something always dies. In Numbers chapter 16, a group of leaders, Korah, Dathan, Abiram and 250 elders of Israel conspired against Moses and accused him of misusing his office and claiming that God only spoke through him. The result: some of the accusers were swallowed alive by the ground and fire came out of the Mouth of God and consumed 250 people.

One of the fastest ways to get people killed is to purport that they are working against the people or that they are spies or enemies of the state. This was one of the accusations of the Jews against Jesus when He was being prosecuted before the Sanhedrin. In Mark 14:55-58, the Bible says:

Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death but found none. For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree. Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying, “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.’ ”

Now, the Jews held the temple with high regard, especially with all the history surrounding it. So, it is no small thing for someone to say that He would destroy the temple. However, just like other conspiracy theories, the accusers deliberately misquoted the Words of Jesus in John 2:19. They had to spice it up by adding lies and misleading statements in order to ignite fear and anger in people and manufacture hatred for Jesus.

Adding up all of the lies against Him, plus His willingness to die, got Jesus killed on the cross. However, what happened on the third day? The ground shook, the angels rolled away the giant stone that was used to block the entrance to the sepulcher. The guards placed at the tomb were like dead men as they were no match to just one angel of the Almighty God. The Son of God came out of the grave, free, and leaving behind every trace of death in the grave.

This is the amazing part of all of the story! Had Jesus not risen, we would have been doomed. We would have been miserable. We would have been hopeless. We would have been no different than other people who ignored the message of the gospel. But He rose, halleluiah! You and I are free, because we will rise one day also, to reign with Him and to be in the presence of God for ever. Aren’t you excited? If you are reading this and have not given your life to Christ, what are you waiting for? It is dangerous to delay this further. Please surrender your life today and enroll in this never-ending bliss that awaits all of God’s Children. The Lord is risen. Happy Easter!

 PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
