Judgement of the Ancient of Days

Daniel 7:9-10

Message No. 0652 | Twitter @GodandUs | www.wisdom-speaks.ca

An adage says that if a child has as many clothes as an elder, he or she cannot have as many rags. It does not matter how quickly a child grows, he or she may even grow taller or bigger than the elder, it remains impossible for the age of the child to catch up with that of the elder. These sayings are usually meant to tell a disrespecting child that he or she met the elder here on earth and should show some regard, even if the child has more education than the elder.

In Daniel chapter 7 verses 9 and 10, Daniel refers to God as the Ancient of Days:

“I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened.

In today’s world, it is common for law enforcement guys to look for eyewitnesses when something goes wrong, and they are trying to determine the truth. Even while that is the case, we see times without number that science sometimes prove the eyewitnesses wrong, because the brain can only retain so much, and someone might see red and think it saw purple.

In Daniel’s vision, he saw a court setting and the Ancient of Days seated on His Throne. The term ‘Ancient’ means old, in this case, old enough to be older than days. Daniel used this term because he had no other way to describe the God who existed before existence. Not only did he describe God in this manner, he also said that the Hair of God’s Head was like pure wool. As we know, white hair is another way to describe an old person.

What can we glean from all of these? The judgement of God is sure, and it is coming, and the court of heaven does not need lawyers or eyewitnesses. The Judge does not need to constitute a jury. No one will be entitled to not being called as a witness for his or her own case, as a strategy to prevent one from self-incrimination. The Hard Drive of God never gets full, and it is not possible to have a network jam or downtime that will prevent evidence from being uploaded. There is no memory loss of any kind, and no one can disproof His evidence.

All of everyone’s history everywhere on earth is with God; there is no hiding from Him. He has cameras all over the planet, and these never shut down. There will never be a time when our deeds escape His Eyes. The best way to be innocent in His Court is for us to surrender our lives to Him and obey His commandments. We may be able to dribble our ways around the court of man, but the final Court cannot be tricked. We can decide to go before this Court with a load of sin and guilt on our heads or we can walk in confidently knowing that we have lived the life that He created us to live.

The question this week is simple: how do you want to appear before the God who has been looking at you even before you were born? If you planned to appear with excuses or with the mind of a lawyer, you already know that you cannot disprove what He already knows. The best action for all of us is to repent and surrender our lives to Him. The Blood of His Son Jesus is more than powerful to wipe our sins and guilts clean, and this is the only thing that can erase our filthy records in His database. Do you want to escape the wrath of God at the Judgement Seat? Please repent and yield to His authority now. Everyday you delay this increases the risk of an eternity in a place of pain and agony. In 2 Corinthians 6:2, we read:

For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Would you heed this call today?

 PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
